Leaving California

I felt like I forgot something…oh the bikes.  We’ve had to pack our bikes in almost all of our trips in the past except New Zealand.  In this trip, no bikes to pack.  It feels kinda weird.  I am a light traveler, meaning I pack light all the time and I don’t have any problems.  Today was a take it easy day.  I felt lazy and really did not feel like doing anything except sleep.  I think vacation is starting to set in.

We’ll be heading to the airport pretty soon.  I am not sure if I am packing any snack on the plane.  It’s really hard to eat in the airplane - as least for me.  Hunny was able to request for “Oriental Vegan” meals on board so that was kinda cool.  Airplane meals are kinda a hit and miss, most of the time it is a miss.  The vegetables are soggy.  The bread is hard.  On the other hand, I usually like their fruit bowls.

I am excited but tired.  Tired from all the work I had to do this week.  I did feel an overwhelming relief on this first day of vacation…

The weather’s been perfect this week in California.  I am sure going to miss it.  The weather in Saigon will be hot and humid.  Huge difference.  On the other hand, I am eager to experience a different culture and different people.  A little different perspective.  It will definitely a life changing experience.

    TAKE US WITH YOU!!!!!

Have a wonderful trip! I’m so jealous! I’m not telling Keely. She’ll be as upset as I am that we’re not going with you! We can’t wait until we can go back to Viet Nam!

Have a bowl of Pho and a “333″ for me! Oh, and don’t forget to try the Durian! And then there’s the Spicy Tofu with Lemon Grass and Chilis, and the mushrooms! I thought they were little eggs the first time I had them!

Keely just found out! She says to have a Caphe Sua Da for her!

There’s a local restaurant I hope you can find. Their specialty is rice in claypots. They make the rice, break the pots and then through the rice across the restaurant to the server. I wish I could tell you the name, but its a favorite in Saigon with the locals. Hope you can find it!

    Safe Landings!

    Bob
